Just bought a 1984 Carver Santa Cruz 2667.

It has no hot water heater??
Where can I find one to purchase?
Are the heated by the engine as well as 120v.

I don't imagine by the 12v system

Carverdjd233, welcome aboard and congratulations on your new to you carver.

When you say, “it has no water heater?” Do you mean you can’t find it, it’s not working, or it’s missing?

Some water heaters provide hot water using engine heat and 120v from either shore power or generator power, others only when you have 120v AC available.. I’ve yet to seen one that runs off 12v DC power.

Welcome aboard David.

Like the guys above said. Any marine dealer would be able to supply one. If it's going in a gasoline engine bay, it needs to be marine rated/ignition proof. Also, if you buy other than a marine unit to mount outside the engine bay, you need to ensure the unit is compatible with typical marine system pressures so the pressure relief valve actually works in an emergency. Marine units take this into consideration and is something surveyors are now looking for because so many people have been replacing these valves with generic household units.

ColRon, there is a 12 volt heater on the market. Don't know why anyone would want to go that route but it's available.

Welcome Aboard. Like other said, Are you sure it does not have it?. in the Voyager 28 from 1988 it is hidden after the kitchen under the couch. And on Voyager 28 it is heated by shore power and one of the engines (Internal cooling hose from the waterpump to the heater and then back to the thermostat house).
