Replacement horns

My horns on my 1994 390 are tired, so much they sound like a turtle crossing the road. I found them up front under the forward cubby. They are strange looking as they are down turned to the bottom cut out . I am going to see if i can get a pic. Anyone else know what I mean or replaced their horns?

I put a set of Kahlenbeg D2 on the 4207 when I had it.
Impressive. Like a ship, not a runabout.

Any electric horn will do the job however if you want the real thing then do as Waybomb suggests. Nothing compares to a Kahlenberg. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5278&hilit=Kahlenberg

Here is what I have, and have bought a set of Ongaro that I can mount over these holes

If it's mounted where I think it is, those are a pain Tony. When I run across an application that has a pair of those no longer working, I always recommend retrofitting to a dual trumpet type mounted on the bridge. The problem with that design is that they tend to get splashed with sea water too often while under way. This shortens their life. BTW, I believe the same type you have are still available which would make the replacement easier.

I would remove them, cut a board big enough to cover the two holes and bed it in 5200 over the holes. Installing a set of trumpets on the side of the bridge apron shouldn't be that difficult as you should be able to pick up the existing horn wiring under the helm or cut it and run new wire from there to the new location.

The horns on my 4207 aren't working. The D2's sound great, but I don't have an air compressor. What's a guy supposed to do? And then I see the post by midnightsun. Yeah, just a bit of money for that set-up.

I put the air compressor under the front cowl, right below the horns. Then I ran a hose to the engine room. That air down there sure was handy.
