If you have the hard top over the aft deck, there is no reason to remove it.
Never heard of a hard top needing to be removed. I stored Midnight Sun a couple of times under wrap and this was definitely not done. From the arch down to the hard top there is a substantial slope when under wrap and any snow will easily slide off. Any experienced wrapper will make a good frame with a good slope for snow evacuation.
