2004 carver 466 inverter question

Postby west coast tim » December 13th, 2015, 1:16 pm

I am just purchasing a 2004 466. while we were on board for the survey and sea trial yesterday, while we were on shore power, I could only get all of the 110 powered devices to operate while the inverter interface was in the on position. Is this normal? In our motorhome, I turn off the inverter when we are hooked to shore power, but the carver only seems to work all of the 110 when the inverter is on, even while on shore power? Does anyone know if this is correct? shore power was working and breakers were on, and was showing 110 on the gauge.

thank you for the feedback

Was it installed by a PO. It may be wired to feed the 110 bus all the time. If it is I would think there is a transfer switch to feed directly from shore power but may require the inverter to be on to operate.

Im pretty sure that it's like mine in that the power comes throw it all the time. So that when shore power is lost, everything stays on line without interruption.

Mine is always on too. It actually is set up to supliment the shore power also. Factory installed xantrex unit.

I'm looking for a twin disc ec150 throttle control if anybody has one laying around, fly by wire throttle shifter. Just wanting to add rear station for docking. 2001 466
