Introduction and Question

Post by 1993Carver »

Hello All, Glad to be a member. I own a 280 1993 Carver in Long Beach Cal. I have had the boat 3 years now and I am still looking for a fuse box. If anyone knows please advise. The boat has an upper and lower helm. 2 Volvo Penta engines and outdrives.
I hope to share information. Rick

Welcome aboard!

Are you looking to replace the existing one, or just add a new one? Or are you just looking for the location where it's located?

There are 2 breaker panel boxes, one for AC power and the other for DC power. Is that what you are looking for?

I looked at some pictures for a 1995, model 280 and the breaker panel is above the hanging closet directly behind the dinette. Is there something else you are looking for?

There really is not a fuse box like in a car. There may be some in-line fuses for electronic items, ( VHF radio, GPS navigation, depth sounder, etc. ) in the wiring for power. The control panel is the primary electrical mgmt system, with on/off breaker switches. The engines have a push button breaker, usually easy to see. Hope that helps. 8-) er
