:-D

My Captain friend (also a mentor) fixed the gas fill problem too! It turned out that the gas vent on Port was 100% blocked by a clay wasp nest inside the vent. You could barely see it from outside but poking with a stick showed 100% blockage. Now that's cleared, the next fuel fill will confirm the ventilation.

:banghead: Lost PORT engine on last trip :banghead:

came back to find out the coil/condenser was shorting on the block and was never properly installed on both engines.

Decided to do All plugs, wires, distributor, coil on both engines. Parts ordered and received. Now waiting on rain to go away and my captain to return from FL fishing trip. He told me "DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING".

To gain easy access, cockpit floor is up. boat is in pieces :(

Cant wait for next week when he returns!!!!!!!!!

Did you check to see if there were still screens in those vents after the nest was cleaned out? There should be a small screen to prevent bugs from getting in there. If that's missing, you might consider replacing the vent assembly.

More importantly, those screens also act as flame arresters so a spark near the vent doesn't ignite fumes in the vent line.

Good point - I will check next week for the screens.

Happy to report that capt is back. He put all parts back together and started the engines yesterday. Today he is putting back in place coolant reservoirs (removed to get some working space) and put deck screwed back in.

Hopefully, I'll test drive Tuesday when I return to the Marina.
