2000 450 Voyager Needs

Post by TruckerTim »

In process of purchasing a 2000 450 Voyager and need a few items.

1) Needs a full helm/flybridge cover. The snaps are in place around the helm but no cover. Is this something I can get from a traditional cover mfg or should I go to a local canvas shop?

2) The middle access plate on the flybridge arch is missing. Any clue where to find one?

Any advice welcome!

On the first question... definitely a local canvas shop. They're probably going to be pretty busy right now, but you can get yourself in the queue. If you can make do without it for the season, you might be able to negotiate a better price to have it done in the off-season. Even if you did order it right now, you might not see it until most of the season is over anyways.

On the access plate, you might have to be creative with a replacement. You could have one made (or make it yourself) but getting the exact match on the paint or gelcoat might be tricky. I'd suggest a boat "boneyard" but not sure if they would sell just the plate off of a good arch... unless you paid for the whole price of the arch!

Do you have a pic of this access plate.......could just be a stock item that you can buy new.....there are makers of these in various sizes and shapes.
I agree, custom for the cover....are you talking about a tonneau type weather cover or full bridge enclosure ?

Now , try asking the seller where this stuff is, even in bad shape copies can be made or repairs to the originals.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

And that's an especially good idea, as well as leaving your contact info with the previous owners with instructions like "if you ever run across any old things for the boat...."

I just ran across a couple keys for the boat I sold a couple years ago. Going to contact the new owner in a few weeks and drop them off next time I'm out near their marina. One key is for the entrance door, the other is for the electrical panel. I gave them the originals when I sold the boat, but forgot I had a couple extras packed away with other keys.

Thanks to all.

I will snap a pic of the missing cover when we go thru survey. Its the small 6X3 or so access right under the radar.

He's the second owner and didn't have them. At some point it had a cover because the snaps are there.

Yes, I guess it would be a tonneau cover. It snaps across the helm and goes all the way around the lower part of the fly bridge. This one does not have full enclosure.
