Virtrifigo is complete
Admiral and I completed the Virtrifigo installation today. You may remember that it would not go all the way ito the cabinet due to the humongous bundles of wires back there. SOOOOOOO< I ripped some 1x4” pine and a 2 x 4. Needed 3/4” wide and 1.5” tall, and 1” wide nd 1.5” tall. Got perfect cuts. Then used my mitre power saw and cut perfect 45 degree angles. Did a dry fit, and then removed and painted black like the original trim. predrilled and counter sunk screws into original moulding. Then slid into place and fastened with stainless screws that I will paint heads black. I AM happy with it, which means a lot due to me being my biggest critics. Tomorrow I pull EVERYTHING out that is stored aboard and go through it. Goal is to take 3/4 of it off. WE SHALL SEE!

Looks good no one would ever know. I had to do pretty much the same thing to get my fridge to fit, similar bunch of wires back there. I'm pretty hard on myself too. Good luck with your declutter

Turned out good Tony. Hope the declutter goes just as well. You sure accumulate a lot of stuff over the years. I have a ton of electrical, plumbing, and other hardware on board that I've put into parts organizers this winter. I also got a nice tool bag for the tools I keep on board at all times. I'm allowed a few select areas to keep all this stuff and all other areas are off limits per the Admiral

Cannot tell from the pictures but does that fridge or the compartment have good ventilation? Rather important to move air around the back of any built in fridge to avoid heat build up and enjoy much more efficient overall use. Normally there is only passive venting as in a grate however a really good upgrade it to install a small fan so when the compressor comes on the fan kicks on. Have made this addition on the last 2 boats. This is a powerful yet low energy unit I used. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07CG2 ... UTF8&psc=1
Fan placed at the top to remove the rising hot air and a hole towards the bottom to intake air is the most efficient route.

Yes, besides the side vent I added, there is a cut out in the floor that goes to the bilge. When the wind blows a bit I can feel the sir move through the vent.

Nice cabinetry work. Tip from amateur cabinet-maker myself: when finishing, whatever product you use, invest in SOFT bristle brush. It makes a big difference, assures professional-looking finish.
