Hello to all the Carver owners.
Although I presently do not own a Carver I have owned many boats over the years none of them Carvers.
Presently I am looking at a 1990's vintage 42-44 ft. Carver motor yacht for my last hurrah, the great loop.
I might as well be a Carver owner because 3 of my good friends each own or owned 57 Carvers.
I have been spent much time both cruising and working on these boats over the past years.
Happy New Year

Welcome Aboard. One thing you will soon realize if you don't know it yet is Carvers are very roomy boats size for size. They also utilize space aboard very well. Hope you find a Carver to your liking.

Hello Rene
I purchased a 2000 456 My in 2012 in Stamford. . I liveaboard year round in Toronto. In my opinion , Get as big a Carver as you can afford plus a little more. You are used to your friends 57's , the 42-44 might feel a little cramped especially if you are planning the Great loop. I believe that where you live , you will find plenty of larger Carvers for sale. Get something also as new as you can afford , maybe a one owner vessel will come your way.
Good Luck

Welcome Mystic! The Loop is a great idea, but make sure you have talked with some Loopers before you choose a boat for that trip. I know several who have made the trip and said their boat did not work out quite a well as they thought she would. John Winter has done the Great Loop and the Little Loop and the Little Latin Loop-de-Loop
- He has a trip journal site and is great to talk with about the Loop, long distance cruising, and what boats might do best. http://www.mytripjournal.com/JustRelax&a=Central_Canada Send him a PM or I can send you his e-mail or phone.
Good luck!
