Post by Dsl »

I want to place a water filter in the plumbing to filter fresh water from the fresh water tank and pressure dock water with the one filter. Ideas? Placement near the pressure pump? Please help with ideas

A filter near after the outlet of the pump on board would serve you well for the potable water tank and would cover all faucets. As for city water, best bet is to install an inline unit like this which gets swapped out every season. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=hose+water+f ... _sb_noss_1

This is what my on board filter system looks like, used 2 filters in series however 1 is more than adequate. I only filter the galley sink faucet as this is where we get all our drinking/cooking water from. The city water is fine to drink plus it is pre-filtered before entering the boat with the inline unit I pointed to above.

That's our ultimate goal for the water, in the mean time, we use a standard in-line water filter. As we don't drink the water at the marina, but at least there is a filter between the post and our boat. Such as this one

Sissy! :-D

I have been drinking and cooking with both city water and on board tank water for the last 20 years plus and still show no signs of additional members growing from my body. :help: Honestly, never been sick or felt bad in any way after all these years which includes family and guests on board. Careful maintenance and annual shock treatment of the water system/tank/lines is a must though.
