That gauge is on back order. SO, I am replacing the hose from tank to pump with a more flexible one. I may remove pressure switch and clean around O rink and replace and see. I am NOT going to let this one get me! I WILL win! lol

Soooooo replaced the hose from the tank to the pump, removed the pressure switch, cleaned, lubricated the o ring, and reinstalled. She pumps GREAT vacuum, but comes on for. few seconds every 3 minutes. PRETTY USEABLE, JUST A PITA! I have tightened every hose, duckbills, tightened the top of the pump. the only thing left if the shift seal. However, bowl hold water well.

Anyone ever replace a shaft seal? tricks? ease of replacement?

I would double check the duck bills. As viper mentioned, if they twisted upon tightening they may not be sealing properly. I would remove them and lubricate before reinstalling. Do not tighten the crap out of them, (pun intended) the rubber is rather thick and pliable where it seals so a snug tightening is all that is required.

When you installed new hose did you use any type of sealant? I know Carver did which makes them a bear to remove however this made the installation pretty much leak proof leak. You could always heat the hose up on the end to make it more pliable and then tighten your clamps down real good which would make for a more positive seal.

I did some major work and needed to scoop out the holding tank a few years back. Horrible job however I smelled nothing yet my wife could smell it from shore as I worked. A really simple and cheap carbon infused mask was all it took, could not believe how efficient it was. Never gagged, not even close.

Just a little tip for anyone working on an open tank or lines.

Does not need to be a fancy one with a valve, any carbon infused one will work as well.

Well, replaced the shaft. I didn’t have any silicone grease aboard, so I had to improvise. HOWEVER, so far an hour in, no cycling. I think I may have found it. SO, new duckbills, a new hose, and new seals. I believe I have won.

I believe 5 hours minimum between cycles is the normal spec

DATELINE! 06:30AM, Cape Cod, MA:

Shut vacuflush switch off at 8:00PM. Turned switch back on at 6:30AM. pump did not cycle, vacuum held. PROBLEM solved and resolved.

Only issue that may haunt me is I had no silicone grease to lubricate the o rings, so I had to improvise with a silicone lubricant I had on board.

NOW, to the next issue!, if one arises.
