I just watched a video from Boattest.com about a product called Hull Shield. It uses ultrasonic waves to prevent hull growth and contamination. Has anyone installed this and if so what are your thoughts and results?

Re: Hull Shield
I haven’t installed it. I am a member of the AGLCA and one of their members is the North American rep for it. She has it installed on her boat, and after having it, she decided to become their rep. The comments from users vary, with many stating that divers say there is no difference (bias perhaps?) versus owners who pull their boats and see the bottom swearing by it.
To protect your running gear, you need to add one specifically for that which increases what you pay. In that case, the sound signal runs through the engine to the shaft, to the prop. Not sure if there are any long term issues for the engine. I haven’t seen any concerns with it, but still wonder about it.
Seems like a solution for salt water boats, not so sure on fresh water, because there isn’t nearly the same growth.
