Hello,
Just became a member and looking for answers already! Recently bought the Carver and I am lacking any real electrical drawings. Problem being faced is this;
When power is applied to console and fuel level is sought by switch, either Port or Starboard:
A) Lights come on the fuel indicator gage
B) No needle is ever show
C) 5 gallons of fuel has already been placed in each tank
Since I see no change when calling either tank, it appears either an open wire or bad gage. But I would love to find some wiring diagrams before 'diving' in.
Thanks

I have the same boat. If the tanks were empty and you put 5 gallons of fuel into each of them I am thinking that would not be enough to register on the gauges. I would put in another 20 gallons in each tank and that should definitely register on the gauge.
I believe each of the tanks is 86 gallons and 5 gallons probably would not be enough to move the needle much if at all.

Thanks Rick,
That would save me a bit of time tracing with the meter, I will give it a look

Easiest way to check the wiring and gauge (at the same time) is to disconnect the wiring at the sender, have someone watch the gauge (while operating the switch to the correct tank) and touch the two wires together. If the gauge pegs out at full...the wiring and gauge are good and the sender is could be bad (as long as there is enough fuel to make the gauge move).

Re: 1981 Carver 3007 Fuel System
Speaking of the 3007 Aft Cabin, Carver only made this boat for 2 model years. 1981 and 1982 were the only years they were available. I purchased mine last August so I only had a couple of months to use her. I did manage to spend some time aboard. I had to repair the fresh water system pump since the old one died. It was a pain in the behind job. I now know why the mechanic wanted to charge $400 to install the pump.
I also love how much room there is on a 30' boat. Does yours have the sofa/chair combo or do you have the dinette in yours.
