On our 4th Carver
Hello everyone! My wife and I are on our 4th Carver this year. Our first was a 1987 3207 with 350 Mercruisers , then a 1989 4207 with 3208 Cat’s, then a 1993 350 Voyager with Volvo diesels and now a 1992 Carver 36 aft cabin with Volvo 740b gas engines.
Love Carver yachts, they have the most room compared to any other make of boat on the water!

Re: On our 4th Carver
Thanks Viper,
I guess that I should have been more clear about the 4th Carver, it’s our 4 Carver in 20 years, not this last year. Now that would have been a VERY busy year! It is our second Carver this year though.

Wow, up the Washington coast with gas engines. How many fuel stops?

Re: On our 4th Carver
Thanks for the welcome guys!
The trip up from Portland was really quite interesting, travelling down the Columbia River to Astoria was cool. I spent probably $3000.00 (USD) in fuel for the trip up to Sidney. Fuelled up in Portland, then Astoria, then Westport (cheapest fuel of the trip), then fuelled and stayed the night in La Push, then fuelled in Neah Bay and topped up in Port Angeles before heading to Sidney.

Never been a picture taking person, so not many pictures taken of the trip, just a short video of going over the Bar.

Re: On our 4th Carver
Oh, and I have to add that I planned the trip for overnight stops at certain places so speed was a factor. Not knowing the boat, I planned on cruising at about 11-12 knots (2400 rpm) which turns out to be about the worst speed for fuel consumption. According to the fuel flow meters, we were burning about 12 gph per engine. We now cruise at about 1500 rpm at 5-6 gph per engine at about 8-9 knots.
