I have no experience with a 3297, but I do with 3 other Carvers.
Generally speaking, the thing may be held in with screws driven in from the side in adjacent cabinets, from underneath, or above. On my 3697, the range must come out to get to the screws.
I think my 4207 was fastened from the bottom.
Maybe that helps?

I hope I never have to do it again. There are some boats easier to work on than others but my Carver falls into the hard to work on category. My last boat a Bayliner 3055 Ciera cruiser was for the most part easily worked on.
