Can anyone tell me how to do the septic system. It has the kind where you can release it in running water and I'm confused on what steps I need to follow

Welcome! Before you release anything you are going to have to check the local regulations - if you are on Pickwick Lake I can gaurantee you that you are not permitted to discharge your sewage overboard. In fact, I'm amazaed that the system has not (perhaps it has) been permanently disabled. It is a huge CC fine even to have it still working and not use it, nevermind discharging it.

Welcome aboard!.
Being a C40, you must have bought it new? I am surprised whomever sold you the vessel did not provide a Captain to walk you through your new boat and its systems. I'd go back to the dealer and demand some help.

Agree with way bomb.... I can believe the dealer did not offer and orientation. When I bought our then 13 year old 350 Mariner the dealer had one of their captains spend an entire day with us on board leaving no system untouched. This included more that 2 two hours on the water to help me get used to handling a bigger boat.

+1
My dealer came with me from Toronto to Whitby when I moved the boat for the first time (2hr trip). In Whitby we went through the owners manual and went through every system on the boat.
