My mechanism for opening the cabin door need help, I am trying to find the mfg of the door lock and hatch release, If you dont have a Carver that opens the door and hatch at the same time you likely dont understand the problem.

Re: Cabin door, Carver 406
I am looking for the same type of lock for my 200 405. The doors close and the hatch comes down over the top of the doors. There is a lock/ closing mechanism on the latch that I need to replace. Any ideas. Did you find parts for yours

If anyone just needs some parts for one of these latches/locks, let me know. I think I have an older one in the basement.g36 wrote:QR_BBPOST If your talking from sundeck into boat cabin.. Bringing this thread back to the top. I’m looking for the Hatch “Spring” type locking cylinder. I’ll take a picture tomorrow and post. Mine is bent and I’m not sure it’ll bend back in position without breaking.

I finally got around to posting the picture. You can see where it’s bent and disconnected from the hatch. The bent arm is circled in yellow.Mikwallace wrote:QR_BBPOST Bringing this thread back to the top. I’m looking for the Hatch “Spring” type locking cylinder. I’ll take a picture tomorrow and post. Re: Cabin door, Carver 406
I'd bet you could take that apart and have that rod straightened, or even just replaced.
It might be possible to replace both of those with small gas struts too, but then you wouldn't have the adjustment. They would keep the hatch all the way open though.
Or- rethinking that... you might even be able to replace just the right side with a gas strut, and still be able to use the left side as the adjustment!
