Replacement Switches for Trim Controls

Post by theorifice »

The "buttons" on the console for controlling trim are either frozen or never had any good feedback. What alternatives are there without modifying the panel? If modifying the panel, what are good robust weatherproof options?

Thanks!

Which buttons don't work....the engine drive trim buttons or the trim tab buttons ?
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

I would remove the screws to the panel to gain access to the switches. Once you can see the back of them it shouldn't be to difficult to cross these to new push button switches. There may be some numbers on the body of the switch to help id or you can just measure the mounting hole and find new ones that will fit and have the same switch action.

If it's the trim tab switches you're talking about... I'd bet those are the standard Bennett switches mounted under that panel. They are not separate switches, but a module with four switches integrated. I know I have one of those around here somewhere from when I upgraded to the rockers, but I don't know where it is or I'd post some pics and look at it to see if it could be cleaned.

Thanks! Do you have a suggestion for a suitable rocker replacement?
