Replacement 12v breaker switches.

Post by Hoplite808 »

Does anyone know where one could obtain replacement 12v fuse switches for the power distribution panel for an 80’s model Carver?

Or has anyone done a nice upgrade or improvement to the factory design that they would care to share?

From what I recall, they are Airpax breakers. I just don't remember the series. I have a couple of spares on the boat and will check for a part number next time I go up. I'll look for an invoice too. Any supplier that carries the brand should be able to get them for you.

Not sure that one is a breaker. Just by looking at the toggle itself sure looks like just a switch. Pretty hard to distinguish the writing but the best I can see is it is rated for 10a.

It's a breaker. Used them in earlier vintages. All mine are that style.

They are now Sensata/Airpax. Here are the replacement part numbers I ordered for 10, 15, and 20 amp:
10A = T11-1-10.0A-01-20A-V
15A = T11-1-15.0A-01-20A-V
20A = T11-1-20.0A-01-20A-V

Ordered them on line from a large electronics supplier in Canada but they should be available from a US supplier too.

Blu Sea systems has breakers to replace those I believe.....that is what I have used, just need the right one to fit the panel though.

Amazon, chandleries, local marina parts, west marine should have common breakers.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Would you happen to know the blue sea part number? The Airpax ones are almost $90 US each.

The exact style aren't easy to find in another brand, if there's even a duplicate out there. Blue Sea doesn't have those unless something has changed recently, they don't show these in their 2023 catalogue either. If you want the exact replacement right down to the same paddle and black outside collar/nut to match the rest on your panel, the numbers I provided above are what you're looking for.

Why are you replacing, did a test reveal it failed?

This is the replacement I was talking about....check out the link, it has all the sizing and will just require two small holes to mount, if like I said it fits in behind the panel. Just choose your amp needs unless you have to have exact match.

For a little engineering, ....Darn sight cheaper than 90 USD,,,, wow thats nuts for one breaker. My opinion anyhow.
