Window Glare

On our 445 occasionally the glare off the water through the front windows into the salon can be significant. We have the black canvas that goes over the windows and sometimes that is a little too much. We were going to get the windows tinted in the front, but the installer said that at some point the windows were removed and recaulked and the poor caulk job doesn’t allow for a proper seal against the window frame and would let in too much light so he did not want to do the job. Has anyone come up with other creative solutions to reduce the glare?

Here's what I made and use on my 405 for the front windows. You can still see out(not like a clear window but not totally blocked like canvas) and it also allows light in where the sunbrella black does not. Its very easy to work with you can use your existing black canvas as a pattern and sew this with some edging and install snaps to match your existing . Theres 2 different sun block and different colors if you dont want white. However white is also a bit cooler when the suns on it.......https://www.sailrite.com/Phifertex-PLUS ... ite-000-54

It is not clear , are you trying to run the boat from the salon ?

I agree with G36 on the Phifertex, we also had a window bra made from white, it cooled the interior greatly and it could be seen thru but opaque enough to be difficult to see thru from outside.

Only one issue with the white..... it stains, needs to be cleaned fairly regular.

Thank you both! Very good ideas. We do not have a lower station on this boat. I should have stated that. It is purely to knock down the sun and glare without having the black canvas up. I appreciate the input from both of you.
