Ac unit Carver 325 1997

[url][/url]Hi all, does anyone know what freon type is the default Ac unit. Installed on. Carver 325 1997. Is is R22 or R12.? Specifically the main cabin unit.

I believe that info may be on an id plate attached to the AC unit itself.....if someone has changed it they may have added a tag with the info on it.

Yep there will be sticker somewhere on it that should say type and how much is put in. Find out for sure or call the manufacturer. If r22
like some other refigerants , pretty much impossible to find unless you get lucky with a hvac tech. If you have have to add some it would most likely be cheaper and easier to find another equivalent and to recover what's left and put in something like 407c etc. You don't want to mix different types.

If it's the original unit its r-22. If you have a leak, you are better off replacing the unit with a new 410a system. As the r22 will cost almost as much as a unit.

Just another note, R410A will be phased out in 2025, most likely replaced with R32 units. I haven't seen them yet, but if you can find an R32 unit, that would put you ahead of the curve.
