Fuel Prices

Post by Midnightsun »

Just read an article showing $7 a gallon and even higher for diesel in California. https://www.foxbusiness.com/lifestyle/c ... some-pumps

Was fortunate this year as our marina had the lowest prices in the area by far all summer. Gas was 2.17/l and diesel was 1.95. As residents of the marina we all get a 10% discount so in my case diesel was $1.76/l ($4.93 US/G) . First time ever that I did not fuel up in the US since it was not worth it. Used to be a substantial savings in the past.

What are/were the gas prices this summer where you boat?
Cheers, Hans

I was fortunate to fill up at Picnic Island in Honey Harbour for $1.72 a litre in early August. Now it’s well over the $2.00. Kept our travels to a minimum this year, and have not ventured to the North Channel for 2 years due to rising fuel costs.

Beginning of season our gas was $3.40 gal. End of June, it was increased to 3.90, where it remains for now. If you are Boat US member, that drops by 10 cents a gal. We are the market low for the area. Most other marinas are just under $5.00 gal. 8-) er
