I have a Malber Washer/Dryer compo that has ceased to function. Parts are almost impossible to find. Rather than throw money at a 17 year appliance, I am going to replace it. I have found a GE model that will fit in the same space.
The problem is that I cannot figure out how to get the old unit out. I could really use some help here. Anyone with a 46 Carver motor yacht solved this problem?

Re: Washer/Dryer Removal Mystery
There are definitely threads on here about working on those and replacing them. Some of the repairs are pretty easy but you still need to get the unit(s) out of the compartment to work on them. IIRC, one of the threads talks about disassembling them to remove. I don't know if any of those threads talk about a 466 specifically, but there might be a similar model where the details apply.

Re: Washer/Dryer Removal Mystery
Found a lot of threads but they all refer to a separate washer and dryer that I think are located in a stateroom. I have a combo unit located next to the stairs to the aft stateroom. I can pull it out a bit but can not figure out how to get to the back to disconnect the hoses and power cord. Any ideas?

Re: Washer/Dryer Removal Mystery
Come on, someone must have replaced the washer/dryer on a 466 motor yacht. Give me a break and share the secret! How do you get to the hoses on the old one?

Re: Washer/Dryer Removal Mystery
looks like there's a panel above it that may be removable. check the panels under the radio unit for screws
or underside: panel under the washing machine, behind the stair? step.
two scrape marks at the front might suggest that the unit was shoved in from the front, so it shall come out to the front too. Also, if it's broke you might just yank it out (tip it forward) and damage the hoses or cord. switch off the power to its socket of course.
hoses and cord are replacable.
