cpoint, before you do anymore, open the panel in your pic above and check in the area you have marked. Those breakers direct the charger energy to the battery banks like I said before. It happened to me the same thing....one of the breakers had a broken connection and the other was cracked. It has nothing to do with the 1,2 all main switch....that just directs 12volt energy to the loads in the boat from those same banks. Good luck and let us know what you find back there.
Now I will add that this will hinge on the wiring not being previously altered, you will find out.

FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

The switches you've highlighted are breakers for the charger output legs. If it's wired right, the position of the battery selector switch shouldn't have a bearing on the charging. Check your breakers for continuity.

If you make the runs direct to each battery, you'll also need to place a marine-rated ignition-protected breaker in the line somewhere near each battery. I think the spec is within 6-8". This protects the wire in case there is a short upstream and the battery discharges though that wire.cpoint wrote: Km, thanks I thought about that as well as I was talking to a friend of mine and will check next time. Also I was thinking connecting direct to battery as the tech support mentioned to see if that works. But checking the fuse probably easier.
Those "switches" by your main switch (the 1,both,2) are actually circuit breakers to protect the lines from the charger to each battery circuit. They likely tie in at the back of the 1,both,2 switch where the battery cables are, but as Viper said, the don't depend on that 1,both,2 switch or proper operation. The just bypass it. However, if you have an issue with the charger circuit going from the charger to battery #2, then if you switch the 1,both,2 switch to BOTH, then both your #1 battery and your #2 battery would be able to share the charger circuit going to #1. That would be a temporary measure to get your #2 battery recharged while you figure out what the real issue is.cpoint wrote:QR_BBPOST
.... Also in your comments about switch, I believe all 3 batteries are charged regardless of the switch selection, but is restricted by the 3 switches as I highlighted with red markings on the attached picture. The only reason I am making comment about the switch (1, BOTH, 2) is, when I have it's on #1, all is well and shows battery is being charged and discharged appropriately. but on #2 it is not charging, so either fuse, line is an issue most likely. I am hoping line is OK, because it's been fine all this time, but maybe fuse got blown when original charger stopped functioning.

Once he checks the back of that panel we will know what I suspect.

Km,
Thanks for that additional information, I was about to ask that next about temporary solution of using BOTH to charge. Because when I have it on both I did see amps going up and down depending load is put on or removed.
One other side question. this 3 week old brand new battery that got drained down to 5.7 amps, if charged is it as good as new? or is it some what damaged, I mean compared to new battery is it no longer same future capacity hold wise?

Re: 121805eg c-charger 5000 out of commision
I got there today, tried to charge with BOTH switch, ended up loosing more juice. Opened up the panel under the steps, tried to look under. But not enough cables slack to pull up to see. So I think this one is over my head at this point. Called an marine electrician I had used in the past, he will schedule me in this week.
Attaching 2 images The switch was on BOTH for the pictures. Went for a walk for an hour. Battery switch on BOTH position, but really no load on them. I though #1 was charging #2 was not charging. But looks like neither is charging.

Re: 121805eg c-charger 5000 out of commision
Both images show the unit is charging properly. The first is at 39.1 amps which I assume happened when you switched to both and the second was after your walk where the charge had dropped to 13.2 amp.
Where are you getting the information that neither battery is getting a charge?
Going on the little information I have, sure looks like the charger is hooked up improperly and gets switched via the battery selector switch.
Please clarify your post as it does not make much sense to me at all.
