Interior door levers

There were some loose strings in my case. It was not that it bothered me so much, but the noise during stormy weather at sea was pretty annoying. I had some guys from https://internaldoorsuk.co.uk/ come and fix them for me. They also used some anti-corrosion which is supposed to prolong their life. They explained that it is very common on boats because of the permanent high humidity and salt. There is nothing serious to worry about, though.

I have a client with a 2016 C38 with the same problem. I took apart the latch along with a working one. In the picture below the working one is on the left and the one with too much "play" or "sag" in the handle is on the right. You'll notice there are 3 springs, but on the saggy one two of the springs that hold the handle mechanism in place are broken. I actually found the broken pieces at the bottom of the handle insert in the door. Tomorrow I'm headed to a locksmith to see if I can get replacement springs. Has anyone identified an OEM for these latches—or even the springs?

It turns out there are 3 springs in the latch, one that pushes the latch into the door and two that hold the handle firmly in place. The latter 2 had snapped and the broken spring fragments were loose in the bottom of the door insert. I'm off to a locksmith tomorrow to see if I can get replacement springs. In the picture below, the working latch is on the left and the broken one is on the right.

I was able to locate new door latches at Flounder Pounder, fpmarine.com. I was only able to purchase the full latch system for my particular model. They do have some models that you can purchase just the lock box that contains the mechanism.

They may get there product from and distribute for Southco.com, you can also check there website.

Mine was also unrepairable as the inner workings were broken.

They are pricey.
