That is a question that is really difficult to answer. I don't recall Carver ever using International engines, but anything is possible. If the floor plan matches your needs, then proceed with caution. She is 40 years young, hopefully has not been in salt water. Would strongly recommend a complete survey done on both the vessel and the engines. The vessel is only as good as she was maintained. Hopefully there were a limited number of owners. Lot of owners used those as live aboards or floating cottages. Hopefully a current or past owner will chime in. Good luck!

I had an 83 3607 a while ago. Great boat but it had gas big blocks rather then diesels. I wonder what the performance specs are with those diesels? I've seen some listed before with diesels and they don't seem to have as high a cruise speed with the diesels that I had with gas, which was confusing to me. If you operated it as a trawler and never got on plane, you could use a radically smaller engine and get great fuel economy, but it would take a long while to get anywhere. I do recall that they offered that model with either a twin or single diesel option.
It's a solid fiberglass hull (no coring) but does have wood in the bulkhead and stringers. Make sure you check the engine bedding stringers for any signs of softness or rot.
The layout on the boat is great for accommodating several visitors, or using as a live-aboard. Lots of space inside, both for living and for storage. AND IT HAS A TUB!!
