Good evening all,
I'm the brand new owner of a 1985 3207 aft cabin. I have no clue what I have gotten myself into! I have dozens of questions, but I'll look in the existing threads before I ask something that has already been answered.
I do have a quick question - The boat is in Louisville KY. I'm at Lake of the Ozarks MO. I think the width is 11' 7" and the weight 12,000#. To get a transportation quote I'll need the height. We can remove the bimini, so the height to the top of the fly bridge to the lowest point. I guess we will remove the props and rudders.
Also and recommendations or warnings?
Thanks
Gaynor Blake

Re: Introduction
Welcome aboard!!
I'm' sure you'll have to remove the props and rudders, and likely the bridge surround (which mean the bridge helm comes out too). There are several other 3207 owners on here and hopefully they'll weigh in if there did any transport. Those are great boats and would be a great boat on the Lake of the Ozarks!

Re: Introduction
Welcome to the neighborhood. Hopefully, you had a survey of some sort done on the boat before you bought it. Carver made great boats in the 80's, but they did use some coring above water level. The bouncing or vibration effect of transport can create some real problems to weakened areas. Don't want to create stress, but you don't want to totally waste money. Most people have no idea how much vibration a boat goes through over miles of roadways. Good luck!

Re: Introduction
Thanks to all
There was a limited survey . I talked to the surveyor and he said he checked for moisture all over with a special device. I talked to the hauler and he is familiar with locating the stringers and making sure that that's where the boat will be supported. To encourage a careful trip I will be following behind. Moving day is Thursday. Fingers crossed.
Thanks again.
