Floor access removable sections.

Post by Gilligan 1955 »

Is there a drawing showing what the removal floor sections on a 89' 3807 are for. Trying to find the shower drain pump.

The forward one is under the forward half of the hatch between the galley and dinette. Mine is between the two water tanks. The aft one is more difficult to get to. At the foot of the bed facing the head, there is a drawer, remove it and you'll see an access hatch or opening in the bottom of the cabinet. In there and to the left (aft) you'll see the sump and a separate pump. Basically impossible to get at from that access point but under the mattress is a hatch that gives access to steering hardware, trim tab pump, etc. Starboard of that hatch is the sump toward the foot of the bed. I found it difficult to get in and out of that size opening so I cut a larger section out and made my own access hatch which is now much larger than the original. I replaced both my OEM sumps with modern ones, the originals were the first auto sumps which were basically open Tupperware containers with a float switch and a remote pump. So happy I did the upgrades. A lot of work but well worth it.
