Twin pleasurecraft 302 water pump orientation

The pump only wants to be mounted one direction, so in theory the impeller fins will orient the correct direction. Lubricated and primed but no water flow. Guessing the melted impeller clogged downstream and have to start taking things apart.

Is one engine a counter-rotator? If so, does that pump mount differently or set up differently for counter-rotation? If so, this matters and which port the intake hose goes to makes a difference.

The starboard says Rt drive and the port Lft(this one I’m working on), I think whoever put the pump in, in 2018, put it in 180 degrees wrong. OR I failed to observe when my friend removed it. I dont know if it would work that long if upside down.
Got it all cleaned up and re-impellered, going to get a new hose to heat exchanger and try install today. For the fourth time. Last install the key came out while putting in new impeller. Didnt know until I took it out again.

Water is flowing! Just got back from marina. Used the images above for engine rotation and primed everything before. Was going to post a video but I can’t figure out how, haha. I hear my dad in my head saying, “pretty good, for a girl”. Couldn’t have gotten there without you all. Thank you.
