Love this idea. Thank you. Since I confirmed with the multimeter that the large cables are wired directly to the battery switch and bypass the 12v panel, do I need to trace them all the way back? Or could I just put a fuse in the positive as a redundancy and add a breaker/buss bar? I’m not sure why finding the other end is important. Please forgive my ignorance.bud37 wrote:QR_BBPOST Good idea........but you need to disconnect the other ends of those wires IMO.
Now if you find the other end of the large cable wires, perhaps you could use them as a feed/ new circuit to a bus/panel in the toilet and put a breaker in there. Those cables will carry good loads and are already there.
Just an idea/ different view.

Do you have breakers under the salon step? Did you check there for toilet breakers? Also, some models don't use the same toggle breakers for everything but also have push-button resettable breakers.

Continuity checks are good but can be misleading in some situations, if it were me I would get eyes on it and trace back.....just me.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Good thought. I’m pretty sure it is just 3 under the step, one for each bilge pump (we don’t have a windlass). But I’ll double check there.

Re: Need Help - Leaking Toilet
So I didn’t have much time today, but I did trace the positive wire to the salon step. I didn’t pull the cover off the panel, but there are a couple additional breakers under there labeled “MAIN ACC” that I didn’t realize were there. So I think there’s a good chance this circuit is wired to the battery switch via one of those two breakers. I’ll try to confirm for sure but that’s what it looked like based on my quick check today.
