Hi everyone,
I would like to replace the 4" hoses to the bilge blowers. There are several cracks in the old ones. The upper connection is to a plastic box that exits the side. The exterior is in the attached picture. I can rotate the hose but cannot get it loose. It goes into the box rather than to a fitting on the box. Does anyone know the procedure to replace these? If I cannot get them loose I guess I can cut the hoses and put in junctions, something like the picture attached.
Thanks,
Barry

Re: Bilge blower hose replacement
Thanks Bud,
I think I will remove the vent cap on the outside of the hull so that I can see what is holding the hose in place. It looks like the vent cap is a separate piece, a standard item still for sale.
Thanks!

Re: Bilge blower hose replacement
There's usually a separate box that the hoses are hooked up to and the vent fits over it. The hose may have a zip tie holding it to the box. That usually allows rotation but prevents the hose from coming off. They might also have nipples that the hose fit over.

Re: Bilge blower hose replacement
I removed the covers revealing the plastic collector boxes. New ones are available from Attwood, part number 1342-1.
The hoses either screw into or can be manipulated into the holes. The holes are small eough so that they retain the hoses without zip ties.
New covers are also available from Attwood.
Thank you for the help!
