After I completed installation I realized that they are approximately 3/4" higher and my engine compartment lids are sitting on them. Has anyone seen this issue before and is it possible to lower the power unit?

Welcome aboard.

Did you stick with OEM or did you go with aftermarket parts?

First let's get our terms right. Some refer to the piece where the exhaust exits and the exhaust hose is hooked up to as risers and some refer to them as elbows. But risers is also a term used to name the spacer between the manifold and the elbow. These come in a few different heights and are designed to raise the elbow to a specific height above the waterline. Not all applications have this riser/spacer. Some elbows are also referred to as risers because they have different height options built into them, one may extend 3 or 6 inches higher than a normal at the base before they make the bend in elbow. So when you say "riser", are you referring to the end piece that the hose hooks up to and the "spacer" as the piece in between the manifold and the riser/elbow?

Did you measure and compare the height of both new pieces to the old ones?

You can lower the engines but that is way more expensive and labour intensive than replacing the risers/elbows/spacers.
