Spark plugs

Post by Gary Rose »

Just a question, I removed a spark plug from my 8.1l HO to get the number so i can get new plugs. It’s a AC Delco 12578277 so i go on line to see where i can get them and there are prices from $6.50 to $57.00 each. Why is there such a difference? If hey are the same number they should be the same quality Right??????

Maybe that 57 was for 8....anyway they should be well under 10 each....if it were me I would try to get them from a reputable local supplier where you can pick them up and check em.

Seems there are lots of knock offs around now, so be careful. I have seen some online stuff being sold for 10 times what is worth elsewhere.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

When I replaced mine, I used NGK iridium.

Hi, I replaced all 16 on my Volvo 740b’s and used NGK plugs. I put the NGK Iridium’s in my Chev truck with the 6 litre engine, and found them no better than the regular NGK plugs. I actually took out the iridium’s and put the regular plugs in, they work fine, and a lot cheaper.
