I was just curious if anybody was fishing in Lake Michigan? I almost got out there if it weren't for the engines dying. Soon . It seems that the boats by me aren't catching a ton. They go out to ~100' deep and are pulling the fish from off the bottom trolling.
That works too. Not as much fun as catching your own. Our best trip of the year is sturgeon fishing. We usually spend a week. Last year we tried to go to Marinette and the water was so low, there was dry ground at the bottom of the dock. We had to go inland.
I am a step closer for sure. The starboard engine started right up. The first time since I bought it. I usually have to pour gas in the carb. It was either a sticking anti-siphon valve of the leaking fuel filter. Both are new so who knows.
The smoking engine, didn't get to test it. I had 23 people on the boat and none of them wanted to go too far out so I just idled it out and back. Ran great.
