2007 Carver 35 Super Sport - general information or owners manual?

Hi all,

I recently became part of the club by purchasing a 2007 Carver 35SS. First thing that strikes me as odd - what's the dang thing called? It was advertised as a 36SS, some documentation shows it indeed as a 36SS, others show 35SS. Based on much reading, I am *fairly* convinced it is a 35SS.

Admittedly, this is my first yacht purchase (I do also own a pontoon, but those are extremely simple relative to these things) and I'd hoped to find details about the layout, controls, maintenance items, etc. for this particular boat with the simplicity of entering a VIN to a car/truck and finding every detail about the thing.

For instance, just a few days after being onboard, I noticed an increasing stench that seemed to be different from the usual "marina smells", and then suddenly started smacking me in the face when I'd come inside from being outside for a time (nose blindness reset!). My brain knows - ahh, OK. This is a dirty bilge. OK - where's that at? Additionally, I replaced the factory-included TV with a more modern 43" Roku 4k TV. Pulling the original without destroying it was a HUGE undertaking - I can't even find any forums dedicated to this boat. I did finally get it done, and fabricated my own sub-frame to attach the wall hanging mount to, and it looks and functions great! Took wayyyy longer than it needed. I did find the bilge causing the problems and got it cleaned. Whew...

OK - now the ask. First, I've sniffed around this site a bit, can't seem to locate a group/link for this boat. Second, if you DO happen to have this boat (Super Sport is NOT the same or even similar layout to Sport Sedan), do you have an owners manual or a way to get one? I have found the Sport Sedan manual, and it's only somewhat helpful.

To give back to the community, I'll share what I did! It appears the original refrigerator was replaced. However, the work done was.... ehh. Lots of cut wood left exposed. Yes, I could have got trim from Home Depot, cut to size and had lots of left over materials - AND need saws and a way to clean sawdust while on a marina. Probably not cool. Instead, I ordered some square cardboard & black velvet sticky sheets. This is amazingly effective, and gives a very polished finish look, while not having to go through the hassle of typical DIY project undertaking like I'd do in my garage at home.

One of the other members here (Phrancus) set it up and has put a lot of time, energy and money into keeping it available to the community.

That is a great looking fridge install. I know what you mean about making a mess at the boat. I usually take measurements, go home and fabricate something, bring it back to the boat and realize it doesn't quite fit, brush up on my sailor vocabulary, try to shim something in, then re-measure and start the process over.

Even though the layouts are different, Carvers of a similar vintage seem to have a lot in common. My dock neighbor has a 36 Mariner slightly older than my 360 Sport Sedan, but we still manage to compare notes on some things. The engineers were at least somewhat consistent in their hiding places. I'll admit he has a lot easier access than I do to general maintenance items.

Most systems are common across all yachts, so things like maintenance, controls, and replacement parts are not manufacturer or model specific. Trying to find out where a particular component is located sometimes requires model specific knowledge, but many times even that can be guessed based on typical placement.

From what I can tell, your 360 is quite similar. I don't suppose you have Starlink, do you? I was just about to post a new thread/question on best placement, and how to run the wires. I'm very worried about drilling through the walls without knowing what's behind or inside them.

lol. I was just sitting here trying to figure mine out too! Seems like the cushy side should be up but no idea how to get it that way. Doesn’t look right. Any suggestions? I can move this to a new thread if need be. Don’t mean to hijak this one.

No Starlink. We use Verizon 5G and have the router in the "man cave" behind the refrigerator. If I recall correctly, this is one of the layout differences between the 360SS and the 35SS. The 360SS galley is immediately to port after entering through the aft slider. There is a sizeable area accessed by a small panel. I keep all of my tools, networking gear, and other electronics in there.

The Verizon 5G router is hooked into an Orbi mesh network for the boat. It's overkill, but I had one laying around. The dock neighbors can use it if the marina wifi goes down, and I was able to hit it from the parking lot last weekend when I forgot my keys (had to wait for one of my kids to bring them to me).

When I was thinking about adding Starlink I was planning to add it to the radar arch. Another area could be the brow, but there is barely enough room for the horn I want to put there someday. On the 360 the arch has a wiring chase down to the man cave on port side and forward to the helm on both port and starboard.

OH MY GOSH! Ok, so I have all these pads, which I thought were for the bow tanning area, but there's 3 - not 2. One of them is white-white, the other two are beige. That third pad is a mattress!
