1998 455 water hose to stainer

1998 3126 diesel —hose from thru hull to strainer needs replacing. Any advice on type of hose or make .
There are a few and the prices vary a lot. It’s a 2 inch 19 inches long

What ever hose you choose be sure it has wire reinforcement inside to prevent hose collapse because it is on the suction side of things.
That could be the difference in pricing you are seeing. Check that whoever you get this from has fairly new stock as sometimes this can be stored in hot dusty places for long periods which can shorten the hose life.

Shields and Trident are good popular brands. You're looking for wire enforced Exhaust & Water hose. They typically have a continuous blue stipe down the length of the hose on which the specs are printed on (red for large fuel fill/vent hose). You'll be able to see the wire in the core at either cut end.
