2002 6.2 Mercruiser

2002 6.2 Mercruiser MX MPI
Ran for 5min fine, then died? Started right up, ran for 30sec, then died. Changed the fuel/water separator, ran for 15sec, then died. Cycled the ignition on/off 10time (to prime). And now wont start. Tank indicates above 1/4 tank of fuel.
Any sugestions?

Almost sounds like fuel, hard to say without being there, just a guess......maybe get the fuel pressure checked, also those engines like that fuel filter to be filled when a new one is installed, air locks etc can happen . Have you had any work done around that engine lately?

No recent work with the engine. I cycled the ignition a few times after changing the filter and it ran for a few seconds, then quit. Tried to restart, and would not fire?

Common issue is the IAC valve.

Update
After letting it sit since Oct 06, I tried starting it and it fired up right away. Ran it for about 15min and ran perfect. Idled and rev'd up with no issues?? Glad it started and ran without issue, but Id still like to know what the inital was?
