325 Electrical Questions

Post by Cunnsco »

Hello friends!

The two deck lights on either side of the sliding glass door are inop. They needed replacing anyway so I upgraded the fixture but there is no power. Does anyone know where the switch is to turn them on? I’ve tried every switch on the boat!

Also, at the helm, below the transmission shifts, sits a white and chrome round knob, like a dimmer switch. It doesn’t look factory to me and I have no clue what it was used for (the knob is fused and won’t rotate). I’ll dig into it this weekend but any clues?

Thanks!!

That probably should be corrected to "I thought I tried every switch on the boat!" I had my boat for YEARS before I found that some of the individual cubby lights had switches of their own!

I wonder if the "dimmer" switch if really a fader for the stereo. Take a pic of the backside if you get a chance.

Ok, your 325 is an older, smaller version of my 356. On my aft deck, there is a small locker between the door and steps going up to the flybridge. Inside the locker are 2, small, almost hidden, push button light switches for outside lighting. When I say hidden, you really have to look for them. My point…your switches could be most anywhere, close by, but well hidden. Keep looking.
