I assume you are talking about the engines and not the boat, correct. Anyway, while not having been made for a number of years, the 454 is basically a bullet proof engine you can find in MANY thousands of boats. The 454 is also known as a 7.4. The block was made by GM and marinized mostly my Crusader, Mercruiser, Volvo and I believe a couple of others. If taken care of, will easily last several thousands of hours. Which brand engine are you looking at? While my personal favorite is Crusader, I used to have a pair of Merc 454’s that served me well. Thirsty, but great engines.

I might add, that’s a lot of HP for a 30 footer. She should fly with those engines. I used to have a 3807 with twin Merc 7.4’s (454). It was a dog that really needed diesels, but the Mercs were still good, reliable engines.

Yes sorry! We did end up buying it! Looking at possibly changing out the props on the bravo 2's. It's got 19 pitch 3 blade SS mirage on there now. Looking for something that would be better for cruising and up on plane faster. Should I go 4 blade?

Talk to a good prop shop for their advice. If you don’t have any local, give Ken at Prop God’s a call. I’ve never used him, but judging from the many posts I’ve seen here and other boating forums, the guy knows his stuff.
He will need to know what your WOT RPM’s is and what is your top speed. Í’m guessing that boat will fly with those engines.
