Hello, I'm looking to purchase a 1994 Santego. I really like the boat, the room inside, steps to fly bridge and the boat is really clean inside. The only concern I have is the high hours (930). The boat has mercruiser 454's and I read an article after 1000 hours start to look to replace the engines. Is there any truth to this and does anyone have motors with high hours. Also what shoul I look for when I do the test run.
Thank You
1994 Carver Santego

Re: 1994 Carver Santego
You should always get a survey.
The hours is not a problem so long as you are prepared to spend the coin to replace them if the previous owner did not take care of them.
That many hours I would also pay for a driveline survey wick should include a leak down test; don't trust just a compression check
