Trim
Who can tell me how they get their trim to work on their boat? Can't tell if mine are working. Also what might be causing me not to be able to get the engines to get above 2,000 rpm? At least thats what the tach is saying anyway.

Re: Trim
Sounds like the problem I worked on for last few months. My ultimate problem turned out to be the fuel injectors (port side). They were far gone to be cleaned. Ended up replacing all 8 (hefty cost for parts alone). The RPM on port was going crazy past 2000 RPM. Before getting to that point I ended up replacing fuel pump, fuel pressure sensor (because past 2000 RPM engine was also cutting out since sensor was not doing its business and flooding engine causing it to die). Finally got the bottom cleaned and it still was not going over 2000 RPM. had compression test, and all cylinders were perfect in regards to the compression test. Did notice one spark plug was like never fired, indicating fuel was not getting to it. replaced all spark plugs, Finally got the fuel injectors cleaned. the company came back saying they were not successful in cleaning. So purchased new ones, and took it out last week, I thought I was in a supersonic flight
Finally.
I did almost replace the RPM gauge, but looks like gauge was OK after all. In no longer fluctuates at all.

Re: Trim
The first thing to do is check the rpm with a separate tach.
On the trim, have somebody go below and listen if the pump works when you hit a button. Also, is the fluid full?

Re: Trim
Vinceaux, How high will the tachs go in neutral? If both engines are doing the exact same thing, check the props. Mike
