Tobermory Ontario

Post by Lyndon670 »

Just back from 2 weeks holidays on GBay. Spent a week at Tobermory - anyone who is on the bay needs to travel here. Weather was spectacular - despite surfing some 6-10 footers on the way home.

Looks great...cool shot from the aft of the waves.

Been there done that. Beautiful to say the least however the waters can be nasty and the rocks unforgiving. My trip there was a blessing as no wind whatsoever. Dead calm for 4 days, almost unreal. We actually stopped right in the middle of Georgian Bay and swam for a few hours, amazing to say the least as not a ripple to be seen and no land in sight wherever we looked.

Gbay is the best boating around. As for the rocks, so long as you are watching your charts and plotter it is no differnt than boating anywhere else. Working on the police boat last summer, we pulled a 42 sloop of rocks almost a half mile off Pickering in Lake Ontario.
