Hi Everyone
I am new to this Forum
I am trying to upgrade the carpeting on my 444 Carver 2004 so I have a 2 part question
On the out side carpeting I am looking for something that is different and easily washable any suggestions of a website I can visit?
For the interior carpeting I am getting crazy quotes for labour only, like 80 hours of labour to remove in install. Is it that hard of a job? Can anyone please lead me down a path that would make sense.
Thanks
Warren

Re: Out door and Indoor carpeting
The previous owner of my boat replaced the carpet before I bought it. He said he got a quote for something like $4000 US to install it. He did it himself and his comment was its not that difficult. Probably just need a good staple gun, some glue that doesn’t stink, and a sharp razor.
I am convinced that people that work on boats try to get rich off every service call. 80 hours seems absurd. I would assume that’s for 2 guys for 1 week. I couldn’t see it taking more than 2-3 days to re-carpet the inside of my 400.

I run a flooring store and will say that installing carpet in a boat is a thankless job that you cannot possibly charge enough for without upsetting the owner. But isn't that true about almost any boat repair. Having said that 80 hours does seem like a lot of time. Does this include carpeting up the bulkhead walls. Very much like wallpaper work.
