This is the site I use to post my photos: http://tinypic.com/index.php
There are other sites one can use but I like this one.
Good luck with your restoration.

Re: new member with a 1973 Monterey 2585
Welcome aboard.
Get that engine running as soon as you can. Get rid of the fuel and start with fresh stuff. Replace fuel filters, and while she might start and run, you may want to consider having the carb rebuilt to avoid issues later.
The distributor cap, rotor and points will probably be corroded so take a look at those also, and replace the plugs while you're at it.
Replace the water pump impeller as it would have taken a bad set by now, otherwise it might fly apart shortly after start up.
Change the oil, filter, and gear lube. Don't know the brand of drive you have but check the bellows too.
A lot of systems to consider here but I'd get the engine going first before I put money into anything else.
Has she been outside uncovered all this time? Did you get a survey?
Keep us posted. Can't wait to see some pics.

Very nice. I'm an ex wooden boat owner so I can appreciate the brightwork but it's a lot of work. She will turn some heads though once she's brightened up.

Pretty nice looking boat. There is something about wood boats and how they look when all shined up. Is it just me or do wood boats seem to ride nicer than fiberglass boats. My last woody was a 30' 1963 Chris Craft Constellation. A bit more work to keep up for sure but that was a nice riding boat for me.

Rick, my first was a 28' '61 Chris Craft Connie. Loved her. CC was ahead of their time back then.

I sure thought it was a woody, certainly looked like one in the pics. Nice boat.
