Swim Platform Ladder

Post by mjk1040 »

All you 355 & 356, etc. owners. This swim platform ladder sucks. Anyone replaced it and with what to make it a little easier to get on the platform. Or has any one added plastic runners to the steps. Contemplating changing it out for a 4 run under platform model that stacks into itself. We still have to tie a line off the back grab bar to assist getting back on the boat. Mike :help:

Can you post a pic Mike? Do you not have a grab pocket in the platform?

Yes there is a grab handle in the platform. Don't seem to have a good picture. The ladder is the standard OEM model that Carver puts on all these boats. It's a 3 run tube style ladder, rough on the feet and the first step is pretty high up. Just not an easy process climbing back on the boat. Mike

I believe the swim ladder / grab pocket is the worst feature of this boat. The wife says I need to fix it. I have been looking for a new unit to install over the winter. The below link may be the ticket.

and theses P style handles on top. they are easily removable and leaves a flush mount on the deck and make getting out of the water very easy

Thanks all, very good alternatives. I'm leaning toward the under platform one with four runs instead of three. Though I do like the pontoon ladder with the handles. Mike
