Post by bud37 »

Would anyone know where to get an engine diagnostic tool for these engines ( 2001 merc 6.2 mpi), would like to be able to hook up and see what is what and adjust if necessary.....also a proper service manual.....seems there are a few of you in the business.......thanks guys :beergood:
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

How much money do you want to spend? Some of them are very pricey. Any Merc dealer should be able to order what you want if it's still available. You can also do a Google search for Mercury diagnostic tools, there are several out there from the simplest LED code reader to higher end software.

Thanks Viper, I did just that and came up with a fair bit of info, learnt quite a bit, Rinda being what seems like the likely source......really I have always done my own engine work and want to be self sufficient with the engine management system on these engines...will have to ask a dealer, see what they say...
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.
