Re: New Guy
Even better, search the covered corridor. Tennessee, North Alabama, north Miss, north Ga, Southern KY. This area is south of severe snow loads, and north of storms so that our boats are in sheds and covered year round. In fresh water and protected from the sun and elements. While transportation will be a substantial cost, we still see most of the boats sold down here get on a trailer and go North. While there are a few that fuel up and head South, it seems most go North.

Re: New Guy
Thanks for the relplies, just from the pictures I have been seeing the fresh water boats look cleaner. That is now a must in my search.

Re: New Guy
Do the closed cooling systems come on certain engines? There seems to be a variety of power plants, I don't see cooling systems listed in the speck sheets.

Re: New Guy
Closed systems can be bought for just about everything. It was an option.
Thanks

Re: New Guy
Thanks, I just haven't noticed it on any listings I have looked at. Sounds like a great option.
So far I have narrowed it to a
325 aft cabin (I like the rear stairs and railing)
Freshwater boat
Closed cooling system.

Re: New Guy
Take a look at the 355 or 356 also, you may find it similar to the 325. The voyager model has a cockpit and one level entry too. Happy shopping! Mike

Re: New Guy
Thanks I'll check it out, I have to admit I like the dark wood on the older boats better.

Re: New Guy
Welcome Brownie! We have a 1982 3007 Aft Cabin and regularly entertain folks in the 60-70 year age and we have no problems. We are on a fixed dock that is almost perfect level with the side step to our deck though. When we raft the only way to access the boat by dock is to climb the ladder from the swim platform, and that could be difficult for the wrong person. Just an FYI, we are selling this boat for a considerable amount less than some similar ones on the market (wife wants to upgrade). I know you're a ways away but it may actually be beneficial for you if you're looking for a nice budget boat. It's older but runs perfect and is in pretty good shape. Hope the search goes well either way!
