Well that way you'll know it's the switch I'd think and not the sending unit. A 20 year old boat shouldn't have these problems, hell a 30 year old boat shouldn't either! LOL!

Same boat, same switch,same problem. Added: I get a slight movement (blip) of needle but it does not move
to expected level. Is this significant or helpful in finding fault?
