Hello,
My Lowrance X70 Depth finder works but the data or reading is wrong. Appears that the distance works but depth indicator doesn't. I was told that the transducer probably needs to be re-adjusted so went in cold water and tried to locate under the boat. Does anyone know where its located?

Really depends on where they installed it. Typically they're somewhere in the engine compartment. You should be able to locate it from inside the bilge unless someone installed a transom mounted unit which is not ideal for an inboard application and could be why you're not getting a reading if this happens only while you're underway.
What do you mean by "needs to be re-adjusted"? Unless it's an adjustable angle unit (thru-hull ducer), it will be fixed and can't be adjusted. It may be dirty/fouled, painted over, etc. Are you sure the settings on the display set correctly? What do you mean by distance? Does it have a speed sensor/paddle built into the transducer that calculates distance traveled or are you talking about distance to bottom?
