I figure it is about time (1200 hrs) to have my injectors serviced and want to get any info I can from anyone who has done this before. Apparently they are rather easy to remove. I will do so for both engine when I lay up in fall. I was told I should number them so they go back in the same spot. Any advice or tips for removal or anything for that matter would be appreciated.
I do know of a good place that does this work specifically on Volvo Penta diesels so that part is under control. Was told to expect around $1500 to $2000 CDN for all 12 units depending if things need replacing or not. Make sense?

It sounds like this is purely a proactive maintenance undertaking and that you aren't actually experiesncing runability issues correct?
Yes you need to mark which engine and cylinder each injector came out of so that they go into the same cylinder. You want to be able to isolate a potential issue with a particular cylinder based on injector condition. You should replace the o-rings; part # 3583078 current retail = $2.76 ea. You need 1 per injector. Volvo recommends an installation lubricant when installing the injectors. I'm sure there is a cheaper comparable product out there but I just use the Volvo stuff; part # 22618335 current retail $188.90!! I haven't bothered sourcing and comparing other products. Lasts for years though.
If you haven't done so recently, replace all fuel filters, dismantle and clean the primary (Racor) assemblies and run the engines for a while. This should be done prior to doing the injector work.
Have you had any issues with the rail pressure sensor? There was a bulletin and campaign out on them a couple of years ago for replacement under the campaign but that ended last year I think. Part of the instructions was to check and insure there was transient protection or a bonding wire installed to the block. This was due to potention shore power issues. The wire came with the sensor kit supplied in the campaign.

Re: Volvo Diesel Injector Servicing
Wow thanks to the moon and back. No I have no issues and want it to stay this way, strictly proactive. I am a little anal on maintenance meaning yes all filters (air, primary and secondary fuel, pcv and probably another that I can't think of) were serviced by myself.
No issue with the rail pressor sensor and I do not think my engines were under the campaign as I did have a certified Volvo tech out at the marina to run diagnostics and check for software updates last year. Everything was up to snuff according to the tech.
The Volvo stuff can be rather pricey at times however I believe certain engine related items are not to be fooled with and this lube would be one of them.
